ACC finds evidence of irregularities in NCTB textbook printing
Preliminary review revealed irregularities in the printing of free textbooks for the 2025 academic year at both primary and secondary levels

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has found preliminary evidence of alleged irregularities in textbook printing and embezzlement of public funds during a drive at the office of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) in Dhaka.
An ACC enforcement team from its head office carried out the drive at the NCTB office today (7 October), in response to complaints that low-quality paper was used in printing textbooks, thereby misappropriating government funds, the commission said in a press release.
During the drive, the team inspected several relevant departments and collected documents from NCTB.
The ACC said its preliminary review revealed irregularities in the printing of free textbooks for the 2025 academic year at both primary and secondary levels. These included the use of substandard paper, poor printing quality, binding defects, and collusion with certain printing press owners to embezzle public money.
The enforcement team will submit a detailed report to the ACC after reviewing the collected documents, the commission added.
