ACC director suspended over taking undue benefits from Evercare Hospital
His medical bill amounted to Tk204,132, but instead of paying, he was released on the basis of a personal guarantee from the hospital director, ACC finds

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director Khan Md Mizanul Islam has been suspended for allegedly accepting hospital treatment expenses from a director of Evercare Hospital, who is an accused in a case filed by the anti-graft body.
The suspension order was issued in a notification signed by ACC Chairman Mohammad Abdul Momen today (8 September).
According to the ACC notification, allegations surfaced on social media that Khan Md Mizanul Islam received unethical benefits from Mahbubul Anam, a director of Evercare Hospital.
Following the allegations, the commission launched a secret investigation.
The probe found that Mizanul Islam was admitted to Evercare Hospital on 17 August and discharged on 20 August after treatment. His medical bill amounted to Tk204,132, but instead of paying, he was released on the basis of a personal guarantee from Mahbubul Anam.
The ACC said the matter was placed before its Internal Anti-Corruption Committee on 4 September, which, citing the "importance and national interest" of the allegations, decided to initiate departmental action against the official.
