ASM Nazmus Sadat, one of the accused in the Buet student Abrar Fahad murder case, gave confessional statement before a Dhaka court on Tuesday.

Metropolitan Magistrate Shorafuzzaman Ansari recorded Sadat's statement and directed to send him to jail after he was produced before the court today upon completion of remand.

Earlier on October 16, a Dhaka court placed Sadat on 5-day police interrogation.

Sadat was arrested from Katla Bazar, a border area in Dinajpur district, on October 15. He was a student of the 17th batch of Mechanical Engineering Department at Buet.

He attempted to flee to India to evade arrest in the murder case.

Abrar Fahad, 21, a resident of Sher-e-Bangla Hall and a second-year student of Buet, was beaten to death on the night of October 7 allegedly by some Bangladesh Chhatra League men suspecting his affiliation with Jamat-e-Islami's student wing Chhatra Shibir.
