8 policemen injured as vehicle en route to provide State Minister Saki's security meets accident
Upon receiving news of the accident, State Minister Zonayed Saki visited the hospital to see the injured police members
Eight police personnel were injured after a vehicle carrying them crashed into a roadside ditch in Brahmanbaria's Bancharampur while they were on their way to provide security to State Minister for Finance and Planning Zonayed Saki.
The accident occurred this morning (27 February) in the Bhelanagar area of Saifullakandi union under Banchharampur upazila.
Confirming the matter, Piash Basak, additional superintendent of police (Nabinagar Circle), said the vehicle left the district police lines in the morning carrying police personnel to Bancharampur to provide security to the state minister.
The injured were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Nizam and constables Zahir Raihan, Abdul Salam, Mainul Hasan, Sharif, Mohiuddin, Mehedi Hasan, and Nayek Jewel Mia.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Nabinagar Circle) Piash Basak said the vehicle left the district police lines in the morning, carrying police personnel to Bancharampur to provide security to the state minister.
When the vehicle reached the Bhelanagar area, the driver lost control, and the vehicle plunged into a roadside ditch, leaving eight policemen injured, he said.
The injured were rescued and admitted to Bancharampur Upzila Health Complex. Among them, Nayek Jewel Mia and Constable Sharif were later sent to the Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh, Dhaka, for advanced treatment, police said.
