8 bhori of gold stolen from Satkhira central temple

A theft took place at the Satkhira Central Temple in the early hours of today (11 March) as two thieves stole eight bhori of gold after cutting the grill gate lock.
Sanggib Kumar, joint general secretary of the Satkhira District Temple Committee, said CCTV footage shows the thieves entered after cutting the locks of the grill gates of the Kali Temple, Annapurna Temple, Radhagobinda Temple, and Jagannath Temple within the Maayer Bari temple complex and stole gold ornaments from the idols along with cash.
"In total, around eight bhori of gold ornaments and Tk10,000 in cash were taken," he added.
District administration officials and police visited the scene.
