5 killed on Eid Day as two buses collide head-on in Chattogram
At least five people were killed and eight others injured in a head-on collision between two buses on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway in Chattogram's Lohagara Upazila this morning (31 March).
The accident occurred at around 7:30am today, the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, in the Chunati Jangal area, said Abdul Matin, sub-inspector (SI) of Dohazari Highway Police Station.
He said upon receiving the news, police rushed to the scene. With the help of locals, Lohagara Fire Service personnel were conducting a rescue operation.

According to the police, the accident took place when a Cox's Bazar-bound Saudia Paribahan bus collided head-on with a minibus heading towards Lohagara.
The deceased were identified as Rifat Hossain, 19, Arfat Hossain, 21, Nazim Uddin, 25, Jisan Hossain, 22, and Md Siddiq, 20.
