49th BCS gazette leaves out 57 names from PSC-recommended list
The government appointed 611 candidates to the general education cadre, while the PSC had earlier recommended 668 candidates for final appointment.
The government has published the gazette for the 49th BCS (Special) Examination-2025 with 611 appointments to the Bangladesh Civil Service (General Education) cadre, leaving out 57 names from the list of candidates earlier recommended by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The gazette was issued by the Appointment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration today (30 September).
According to the gazette, the appointments were made based on the PSC's recommendation dated 27 September 2025. The PSC had earlier recommended 668 candidates for final appointment on 12 November 2025.

The omission of the 57 names has sparked frustration among several PSC-recommended candidates, some of whom took to social media to question why they were excluded from the final gazette.
Abdullah Al Mamun Belal, who said he ranked first in Social Welfare in the 49th BCS, said his name was not included in the gazette. He also questioned whether his participation in the July movement had played a role in his exclusion.
"I ranked first in Social Welfare in the 49th BCS, yet my name did not appear in the gazette. I was active during the July movement. I could not understand what my crime was," he wrote on social media.
Sohel Rana, who said he ranked first in History, also said he had been left out of the gazette.
"Thank you, Bangladesh, for depriving me of a place in the gazette despite ranking first in the 49th BCS Education cadre," he wrote on social media.
Bushra Jahan Oishi, who ranked 14th in English, also said her name was missing. She said candidates ranked 13th and 15th were included in the gazette, while her name was not.
"I ranked 14th in English. The gazette has 13 and 15, but not 14," she wrote on Facebook, adding that neither she nor any member of her family had ever been involved in politics.
Another PSC-recommended candidate, Redwan Ahmed Tahmid, also said his name was absent from the gazette.
In a social media post, He said he had spent the past 10 months waiting for the gazette and had even stopped studying during that period.
"I now see no way out except ending myself," he wrote.
