48th special BCS circular published; 3,000 doctors to be appointed

The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) today (29 May) published the circular for the 48th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) special examination, under which a total of 3,000 doctors will be appointed.

Through the special BCS, 2,700 assistant surgeons and 300 assistant dental surgeons will be recruited, according to the circular.

The online application process will begin at 10am on 1 June and continue until 6pm on 25 June.

To apply, candidates must be between 21 and 32 years of age as of 1 May 2025. Applications from candidates who are younger or older will not be accepted.

Detailed information regarding the exam and application process is also available on the Teletalk website (http://bpsc.teletalk.com.bd), through which applicants must pay the required fee after submitting their application form.

The application fee must be paid within 72 hours of form submission.

The exact date and time of the examination will be announced later.

In the 48th special BCS, the total exam will carry 300 marks. Of this, a 200-mark written test will be conducted in MCQ format, and the viva voce (oral test) will be worth 100 marks.

The written test will have a duration of two hours. Each MCQ will carry 1 mark, and 0.50 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
