Three people in a CNG-run autorickshaw including a child were killed and his parents were injured after it was hit by a dump truck in Kaliganj Upazila of Gazipur this morning (3 October).
The deceased were Oliullah, 40, Abu Taleb, 27, and Tamim, 4.
The incident took place at around 8:30am at the Dewpara intersection on the Tongi-Kaliganj-Ghorashal regional road, said Kaliganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Alauddin.
The injured are Tamim's parents, Hafizur Rahman, 40, and Salma Begum, 35. The family was travelling from Safipur in Kaliakair towards Narsingdi.

Two passengers died on the spot. Three critically injured passengers were rushed to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex, where the child Tamim died while undergoing treatment.
Later, the injured couple was shifted to Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur.
OC Alauddin said the truck and the autorickshaw have been seized, adding that legal action is underway.
