37,250 tonnes of rice arrive from India, Pakistan

Two consignments of 26,250 tonnes of Pakistani rice and 11,000 tonnes of Indian rice arrived at Chattogram Port today (5 March).
The Pakistani vessel named 'MV SIBI' with 26,250 tonnes of rice under the government-to-government (G2G) deal and the Indian vessel named 'MV HT UNITE' anchored at the port in the morning, said Imdad Islam, public relations officer of Ministry of Food .
Necessary measures have been taken to ensure that the unloading activities will begin today after testing the samples of rice stored on the two ships, he added.
