300 July fighters, martyrs' family members to receive journalism training by Dec: Info adviser

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam has announced that by December, at least 300 members of July Uprising fighters and martyrs' family members will receive training in journalism and film.
"The participation of these individuals in the media ecosystem could bring significant improvements in media quality," the adviser made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the "Investigative Journalism Training for July Fighters" and the certificate distribution event, held at the National Institute of Mass-communication (NIMCO).
Calling on participants of the uprising to engage in media, Mahfuj said, "For the country's interest, it is essential for July fighters to enter the media ecosystem. They must take up the challenge to bring positive changes."
Regarding the government initiative, the adviser explained that under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), the NIMCO, and the Bangladesh Film and Television Institute (BFTI) are providing journalism and film training to freedom fighters and families of martyrs.
"By December, at least 300 participants are expected to complete the programme," he added.
Mahfuj also invited July fighters, members of martyrs' families, and other participants of the uprising to join the ongoing journalism and film training initiatives organised by the ministry.
