3 people shot dead in Jhenaidah

Unidentified individuals shot dead three people in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah district yesterday (21 February).
The incident took place in the Ramchandrapur Tribeni Crematorium area of the upazila around 11pm, Shailkupa Police Station Officer-in-Charge Masum Khan told The Business Standard.
Police have identified two of the deceased as Hanif and Liton. Hanif is said to be a leader of the Purbo Banglar Communist Party.
Locals said they heard several gunshots around 11pm. Later, when the police came to the spot, three bodies were found.
The deceased were not the residents of the area, locals added.
"The three were shot in the chest and head. Police are working at the scene," OC Masum said.
Police recovered two black Bajaj Pulsar motorcycles and a magazine of bullets from the spot.
