Police have detained three individuals over allegedly chanting provocative slogans at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar during a flash rally in support of the Awami League.

Confirming the matter, Additional Police Superintendent Shahinur Kabir of Dhaka District Police said, "About 5 to 6 individuals attempted to create instability on the occasion of Independence Day by chanting provocative slogans at the National Martyrs' Memorial, and they were held by the Ashulia police."

The police also said the detainees – Selim Reza, Md Shahidul Islam, and Md Sohel Parvez – were members of the Muktijoddha Projonmo League.
