3 Bangladesh-bound int’l flights diverted amid India-Pakistan crisis

Three international flights en route to Bangladesh were forced to alter their routes due to security concerns over the region's airspace, following a missile strike launched by India on Pakistan in the early hours of Wednesday (7 May).
According to a statement from Group Captain Kamrul Islam, executive director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the affected flights were Turkish Airlines, Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways.
In the statement, the HSIA official said the flight from Türkiye to Dhaka diverted around Pakistani airspace and landed at Muscat International Airport in Oman.
One Jazeera Airways flight diverted to Dubai, while another returned to Kuwait.
The Kuwait Airways flight does not operate in Bangladesh, the statement said.
The diverted flights began arriving at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this morning as operations gradually returned to normal, Group Captain Kamrul Islam added.
