2 killed in Sylhet road crash

Two people were killed and at least 10 others injured in a triangular collision involving three buses on the Dhaka–Sylhet highway in Osmaninagar upazila of Sylhet district on Saturday (17 January).

The accident occurred around 7:00am when a Sylhet-bound Shyamoli Paribahan bus collided with Dhaka-bound buses of Ena Paribahan and Unique Paribahan coming from the opposite direction, leaving two people dead on the spot and injuring at least 10 others, said Monayem Mia, officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station.
Upon receiving the information, police and Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
The injured were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Vehicular movement on the highway remained suspended for about three hours following the accident.
