2 dead, 10 injured as bus crashes into truck on Padma Bridge in Munshiganj

Two people were killed and 10 injured when a speeding bus crashed into the back of a truck at the Mawa end of the Padma Bridge in Munshiganj.
The accident occurred around 11pm last night (13 June) in front of pillar no-2 at the Mawa end of the bridge.
According to Fire Service and police sources, an Imad Paribahan bus hit the back of a truck with a huge force near pillar no-2 of the bridge, severely damaging the front portion of the bus.
Upon receiving the news, a rescue team from the Sreenagar Fire Service quickly rescued the victims.
The injured were taken to the Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex, where the attending physician declared two people dead on arrival, confirmed Dewan Azad, station in-charge of Sreenagar Fire Service and Civil Defence.
"After providing initial treatment to the injured, they were sent to Dhaka for advanced medical care. Several of them are in critical condition," said Dr Monira Sultana, the duty doctor at the emergency department of Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex.
Regarding this incident, Zakir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Padma Bridge (North) Police Station, said, "This accident occurred when an Imad Transport bus crashed into the back of a truck. Two people were killed in this incident. The injured have been rescued and sent to the hospital."
