Heavy fog disrupted flight operations at the Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with 15 flights delayed and one diverted to Kolkata from 4am to 12pm today.

Airport official said flight operations were halted from 4am to 9:45am due to thick fog.

According to the data collected from the airport website, which displays data from flightstats.com, a Gulf Air flight from Bahrain, which was scheduled to arrive at 4:10am at Dhaka airport, was diverted to Kolkata airport.

Besides, 15 flights of different airliners, including Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines, SpiceJet, Qatar Airways and Air Arabia, were delayed due to the fog.

However, no flight was reportedly cancelled.

Meanwhile, three flights were forced to land in Kolkata Airport due to dense fog at Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport.
