A 13-kilometre-long traffic jam has formed on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Gazaria in Munshiganj due to a road accident and a vehicle breakdown, causing significant delays and inconvenience for commuters.  

Highway police reported that the congestion began around 7am this morning (13 January) in the Baushia area of the Cumilla-bound lane. 

The traffic later spread across the Gazaria section.

Truck driver Shafiq said, "I encountered traffic right after crossing the Meghna Bridge. I'm not sure what caused it."  

Bus driver Kurban Ali added, "It took over an hour to travel from Jamaldi to Bhoberchar bus stand. I don't know when I'll reach my destination."  

Gazaria Bhoberchar highway police outpost in-charge Md Humayun Kabir said, "The damaged vehicles have been removed from the highway, and traffic flow should normalise soon."  

As of 10:30am, vehicles were moving slowly, but the situation had not yet fully improved.
