The three-day 12th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2025 concluded today (20 September) at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka. The fair, which began last Thursday, drew thousands of visitors and featured nearly 150 exhibitors from seven countries.
Chief Guest Nasrin Jahan, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, attended the closing ceremony alongside Bangladesh Tourism Board CEO Nuzhat Yasmin, Maldives Ambassador Shiunin Rashid, and Philippines Ambassador Nina P. Keinglet.
In her remarks, she described the fair as more than an exhibition, calling it a platform for friendship, cultural exchange, and opportunities between Bangladesh and other Asian nations. She thanked ATF Chairman Mohiuddin Helal and his team for organizing the event efficiently and praised the Ministry, Bangladesh Tourism Board, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, and the Tourist Police for their support.
"Bangladesh is no longer a lagging destination. From eco-tourism, heritage tourism, and adventure tourism to community-based initiatives and an investment-friendly hospitality sector, progress is visible everywhere. Through this fair, we have sent a strong message to the world about our potential," she said.
Chairman Helal highlighted the fair's success despite challenges, calling ATF Bangladesh's most popular and influential tourism platform. The fair showcased tourism development initiatives, promoted community-based tourism, featured cultural programs and children's art competitions, and offered seminars, B2B networking, and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Exhibitors included government tourism agencies, private companies, airlines, hotels, tour operators, cruise companies, and travel trade associations. Nepal served as the Prime Partner Country, showcasing its Himalayan heritage and adventure tourism, while the Philippines and Maldives participated as Partner Countries, highlighting diverse tourism offerings and regional collaboration.
Title sponsor Biman Bangladesh Airlines, hospitality partner Crown Plaza Dhaka Gulshan, transport partner Convoy Service, cruise partner Dhaka Dinner Cruise, and ICT partner M360 supported the fair. Key highlights included networking sessions, sustainable tourism seminars, community initiatives, and cultural performances.
Helal also announced that the 13th Asian Tourism Fair will be held from 24–26 September 2026, coinciding with World Tourism Day, promising a larger platform to highlight Asian tourism and Bangladesh's international potential.
