Tarique pledges 40 playgrounds for Dhaka
The initiative will create opportunities for children to play outdoors, while providing space for elderly people, women and others to walk and exercise, he says
BNP Chairman and Dhaka-17 candidate Tarique Rahman today (8 February) pledged to build at least 40 playgrounds across the capital if the party wins the 12 February polls.
Addressing an election rally at the ECB Chattar in Mirpur, he said, "Dhaka-17 and other parts of the city lack adequate playgrounds. If the BNP forms the government, at least 40 playgrounds will be built across Dhaka city."
He added that the initiative would create opportunities for children to play outdoors, while providing space for elderly people, women and others to walk and exercise.
At the end of the roadside rally, Tarique appealed to voters to support him and the BNP in the upcoming election.
"I humbly request you, along with your friends, relatives and acquaintances, to cast your votes for the 'sheaf of paddy' on 12 February," he said.
He added, "I am a child of this area, a child of you people. By electing the sheaf of paddy, give me the opportunity to serve the people of Dhaka-17."
