National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has called on supporters to gather in Dhaka-8, after the party alleged that attempts were made to alter election results in the constituency.
In a Facebook post shared last night (13 February), Nahid wrote, "Everyone, come to Dhaka-8. To protect the voting rights of students and the people."
Minutes earlier, at 10:42pm, the party's Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary posted on his verified Facebook page, claiming that efforts were underway to change the results in the constituency.
"Attempts are being made to alter the results. Everyone remain alert. Those who have not yet come to guard your polling centres, step forward," he wrote.
The developments come amid allegations by the party of result tampering in several constituencies, including Dhaka-8.
