The Election commissioner urged all stakeholders including political parties and candidates to maintain the peaceful atmosphere during the elections
The Election Commission is satisfied with the current law and order situation ahead of the referendum and 13th parliamentary election to be held simultaneously on February 12, said Election Commissioner Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah on Tuesday.
"The Election Commission is satisfied with the prevailing law and order situation," he said at a press briefing at Nirbachan Bhaban in the afternoon, adding that while some incidents occurred after the election schedule was announced, it would have been better if they had not.
The Election commissioner urged all stakeholders including political parties and candidates to maintain the peaceful atmosphere during the elections.
He said the EC would release the balloting progress reports four times on the election day.
He said the Election Commission would brief international observers and foreign journalists on Wednesday about the February-12 elections.
