Brahmanbaria-2 polls: Independent candidate alleges fake vote attempt by Rumeen’s supporters
Referring to security at his own polling centre, Tarun Dey said, 'There is hardly any security at this centre. With this level of security, a fair election cannot be expected. There is no police presence here. I do not see any army patrol either.'
A candidate in the Brahmanbaria-2 constituency has alleged that supporters of another independent candidate Rumeen Farhana are attempting to cast fake votes at various polling centres.
SN Tarun Dey, an independent candidate described as a "BNP rebel," made the allegation to journalists after casting his vote at the Gazipur Shaheen Cadet Academy polling centre in Kalikaccha union of Sarail at around 12pm today (12 February).
"Supporters of Rumeen Farhana and BNP alliance candidate Junayed Al Habib were entering different polling centres in an attempt to cast fake votes," he said.
He also alleged that several centres in Ashuganj were vulnerable and said the administration had been informed.
Referring to security at his own polling centre, he said, "There is hardly any security at this centre. With this level of security, a fair election cannot be expected. There is no police presence here. I do not see any army patrol either."
