BNP’s Aminul leads by 14 votes in Dhaka‑16 after four centres report
Election officials said the results indicate a highly competitive race in the constituency, with the final outcome expected to depend on remaining polling centres
BNP candidate Aminul Huq has taken a narrow lead in the Dhaka–16 constituency after results from four polling centres were counted, showing a closely fought contest between BNP and Jamaat.
According to unofficial results from three polling centres at Kalshi Islamia School, Aminul secured a total of 1,481 votes, while Jamaat candidate Colonel Abdul Baten received 1,461 votes, giving Aminul a lead of 20 votes at the venue.
However, results from Abu Taleb High School (Polling Centre No 39 – Male) shifted the margin slightly, with Colonel Abdul Baten securing 663 votes against Aminul's 657, reducing the gap by six votes.
With the inclusion of all four centres, Aminul now leads by a slim margin of 14 votes overall.
