Former BAEC chairman Dr Engr Md Manjurul Haque passes away
With deep sorrow, it is announced that former Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) Dr Engineer Md Manjurul Haque passed away today, 2 December, 2025, at around 1pm while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun). He was about sixty-seven years old.
Dr Manjurul Haque was born on 1 September, 1958 in a respected Muslim family in Nilphamari district. He joined BAEC in 1981 and made significant contributions to the development and research of nuclear science and technology during his long career. He served as chairman of the commission with notable competence, honesty, and dedication.
His namaz-e-janaza was held today after Maghrib on the BAEC headquarters premises. He is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter, and many admirers.
All officers and employees of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission pray for the forgiveness of the departed soul and express their deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
