According to locals, after returning home from Oman, Mohiuddin visited his sister's house at Bamonsundar area in the Katakhali union. A dispute arose over taking his sister to their parental home for a few days, leading to a heated argument.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation involving Mohiuddin, his sister's husband and her father-in-law. During the altercation, Mohiuddin sustained serious injuries.

Locals rushed him to the Mirsarai Upazila Health Complex (Mastannagar) at 11pm, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

OC Selim said, "Police attempted to detain the accused, the victim's brother-in-law, but he was not found at home."

"A case has been filed in this connection naming four persons as accused. We are looking into the case," he added.
