Chittagong University to host 'Astronomy Talks and Sky Observation 2.0' tomorrow

Chittagong University is set to host an astronomy-focused event "Astronomy Talks and Sky Observation 2.0".
The programme aims to give participants a closer look at the night sky, constellations, and the universe. The event is being organised by the Chittagong University Research and Higher Study Society (CURHS) and the astronomy organisation Durbin – Citizens of the Distant Worlds.
The event will take place on Wednesday (10 December), from 3pm to 9pm at the Law Faculty Auditorium of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University, Prof Yahya Akhtar, will be the chief guest, while Prof Anjan Kumar Chowdhury from the university's Physics Department will attend as a special guest.

The keynote lecture will be delivered by Prof Ujjal Kumar Dev from the Department of Mathematics, Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (Cuet). He will speak on "Cosmology: Ancient Questions in Modern Science."
The day-long event will be conducted in three segments: Scientific discussion on basic concepts of astronomy, constellations, and the universe, astronomy-based quiz competition featuring university students and night sky observation using telescopes, where participants can view lunar craters, visible planets, and bright star clusters, with support from Durbin.
