Medals awarded at 44th passing-out parade of marine fisheries academy
Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhtar has stated that cadets trained at the Marine Fisheries Academy are becoming fearless deep-sea divers.
She made the remarks while addressing the 44th passing-out parade held at the academy premises this morning. Abu Taher Muhammad Jaber, Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, attended the ceremony as special guest. Captain Mohammad Hassan, Principal of the Marine Fisheries Academy, presided over the programme.
The adviser stated that the knowledge gained through hard work and intensive training would greatly benefit the cadets in their future workplace. The cadets were now leaving the structured environment of the academy and entering the wider arena of professional life. She added that the foundation of their progress lies in hard work, punctuality, honesty, efficiency, values and devotion to the country and the nation. Farida Akhtar expressed hope that the cadets would uphold these values and enhance the image of Bangladesh through their professional achievements.
The adviser distributed medals among the cadets. Khandaker Tanvir Islam (Marine Engineering) received the Best All-Rounder Gold Medal. In other categories, Jaber Shahriar (Nautical Science), Mainul Islam (Marine Engineering) and Sakibur Rahman (Marine Fisheries) received the Best in Professional Training Silver Medal, while Nusrat Hossain Anika (Marine Fisheries) was awarded the medal for Best Female Cadet.
A total of 110 cadets, including 17 women, graduated from the 44th batch in the Passing Out Parade 2025 of the Marine Fisheries Academy.
Later, the adviser attended the 44th batch certificate awarding ceremony and presented certificates to cadets who successfully completed the course.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Coast Guard, Ministry and Department of Shipping, Department of Fisheries, Department of Information, Marine Department, Shipping Office and other maritime educational institutions were also present at the ceremony.
