Ganashala released ‘hau mau khau’ title track CSR by Sheltech
There was a time when the release of a music album constituted a major cultural event.
Today, album releases are increasingly uncommon, with initiatives centred on children's content declining even further. However, architect, filmmaker and lyricist-composer Enamul Karim Nirjhar remains steadfast in resisting this trend.
His latest initiative is a children's music album entitled Hau Mau Khau. Consisting of five songs written and composed by Nirjhar and arranged by Autumnal Moon, the album has been produced through the joint CSR–ISR process, with CSR funding from Sheltech.
As part of this collaborative effort, the album features young vocalists Mrinmoyee Megha, Aroni Kathleen Murmu, Samah Fatiha Said and Prafulla Anshuman, alongside senior artist Tanvir Alam Sajib.
Nirjhar stated that the songs explore the diverse emotions of children, including their imagination, grievances, perception of nature, expectations of adults, and the manner in which adults, in turn, perceive them.
Veteran singer Tanvir Alam Sajib also lends his voice. Reflecting on the experience, he said: "Stepping out of my usual style to interpret this song was refreshing. Nirjhar bhai is wonderfully unconventional. Whenever he envisions something different, I am invited, and it becomes a fully-fledged creative mission. Each song becomes its own little expedition. It is always an exciting experience working with him, and listeners will enjoy these songs."
The album's title track, Hau Mau Khau, is scheduled for release today, 27 November, at 7pm on the Ganashala YouTube channel. The remaining tracks — Hattimatim Tim, Tiring Biring Foringtake, Chhotoder Gaan Niye and Ei Tui Ki Korchhis? — will follow in sequence.
The title song is performed by child artist Mrinmoyee Megha, who experienced professional song and video production for the first time through this project.
Megha said: "I had sung once before at Moon uncle's studio, more as an audition. However, the recording and video for this song were entirely different. I could not believe how much preparation went into it! It was exciting and a bit daunting, but I did my very best."
Ganashala continues its efforts to strengthen the CSR–ISR process, aiming to create sustainable earning opportunities for music professionals. Several projects under this initiative have already been launched.
