CAAB completes inspector course to strengthen aviation security oversight
The ICAO-Capped Aviation Security National Inspector Course, held at the Civil Aviation Academy, Bangladesh, in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), has been successfully completed.
The course was conducted by ICAO Instructor Mohammad Alamgir.
A total of 12 domestic and foreign trainees participated in the seven-day training programme and successfully completed the course.
The main objective of the training was to develop skilled and competent National Inspectors for aviation security oversight activities and enhance their professional capabilities in line with international standards.
Air Commodore Mohammad Asif Iqbal, Member (Security), Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.
He congratulated the trainees and urged them to utilise the knowledge and skills acquired from the course to improve the country's aviation security system.
Prashant Kumar Chakraborty, Director, Civil Aviation Academy, was also present at the event.
He expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the course and reiterated the academy's commitment to developing human resources in the country's aviation sector by organising international-standard training programmes in the future.
The course is expected to play an important role in the upcoming ICAO Security Audit by providing appropriate training to the authority's aviation security inspectors.
