Customers' forum holds sit-in at Islami Bank over chairman's removal demand again
Female customers also took part in today’s demonstration.
The Islami Bank "Sacheton Grahok Forum" has again began a sit-in programme in front of Islami Bank today (9 June), demanding the removal of Chairman Md Khurshid Alam.
Female customers also took part in today's demonstration.
Since 1 June, the forum has been holding a series of continuous programmes calling for the resignation of the Islami Bank chairman.
Yesterday, Islami Bank employees staged demonstrations and observed a two-hour work stoppage.
During the protest, the demonstrators called for the chairman's resignation and observed a two-hour work stoppage at all Islami Bank branches across the country.
At the bank's Motijheel branch, customer presence was reportedly minimal during the programme.
The symbolic work stoppage follows a string of intense street demonstrations.
The "Islami Bank Sacheton Grahok Forum" had earlier staged a large-scale demonstration in the capital on 3 June, marching through the city to demand the chairman's exit and urging bank employees to join the corporate strike.
