Postal vote registrations cross 9.5 lakh ahead of national election
Among expatriate Bangladeshis, Saudi Arabia recorded the highest number of registrations
Postal voter registration through the Postal Vote BD app has crossed 9.5 lakh ahead of the upcoming national parliamentary election and referendum, according to the Election Commission (EC).
Data published on the Election Commission's website shows that as of 4pm today (29 December), a total of 951,808 voters had completed registration for postal voting.
Among expatriate Bangladeshis, Saudi Arabia recorded the highest number of registrations, with 177,583 voters. Qatar ranked second with 63,928 registrations, while Malaysia had 51,572 registered voters.
Within Bangladesh, 355,913 voters have registered for postal voting, including government employees, election officials, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP members, and voters in legal custody.
According to EC, the postal vote registration process is set to conclude on 31 December.
