These cases are being pursued as crimes against humanity under international law.

The International Crimes Tribunal has ordered the completion of investigations within the next three months against 45 influential individuals from ex-prime minister Sheikh Hasina's administration.
The accused include ex-law minister Anisul Huq, former education minister Dipu Moni, former industries minister Amir Hossain Amu, former adviser on private industry and investment Salman F Rahman, and former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
The accused are under investigation in seven separate cases involving allegations of mass killings, murder, and torture committed during the July uprising.
These cases are being pursued as crimes against humanity under international law.
The directive was issued today (20 july) by International Crimes Tribunal-1 chaired by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mojumdar.
The tribunal ordered the investigation agency to submit its report by 15 October.
The date had been previously set for the prosecution to submit progress reports on the investigations into these high-profile cases involving former ministers, bureaucrats, and judicial officials.
Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tazul Islam, appearing on behalf of the prosecution, requested more time from the tribunal, citing substantial progress in the investigations.
He informed the court that critical documents, evidence, and witness testimonies had already been collected, but additional time was needed for verification and analysis.
Upon consideration, the tribunal granted the request and instructed the agency to finalise the investigations and submit all relevant reports by the October deadline.
