His closest rival, Mohammad Alauddin of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has secured 35,558 votes, trailing by 35,253 votes.

BNP candidate for the Chattogram-3 (Sandwip) constituency, Mostafa Kamal Pasha, is leading in the unofficial count from 81 polling centres with 70,811 votes.

His closest rival, Mohammad Alauddin of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has secured 35,558 votes, trailing by 35,253 votes.

The constituency has a total of 260,485 registered voters.
